UPDATE ON WHAT COMPENSATION WE RECEIVED!

What we did! And what we learned!

Next month, we're embarking on a transatlantic cruise, a trip we planned since last October when we booked our tickets through Air France, with Delta handling the flight. This dual arrangement was easy enough to book directly, but we never expected a cancellation without any notice. What truly bothers me is that our experience isn't unique. We were caught off guard by the lack of communication – no texts, no emails; I only discovered our canceled flights when I checked our airport departure time. It's appalling customer service from BOTH airlines, though Delta bears the brunt of the responsibility as they're the service providers. Here's how we tackled the situation: having all our documents printed and ready proved invaluable when communicating with Delta in person and using online chat to get a transcript from Air France. Interestingly, booking through Air France for a flight originating in Europe turned out to be a significant advantage. Watch our video to discover more about our experience, how we addressed it, and the insights we gained. Why it might make sense to book your next trip with a European carrier. Spoiler alert: You have WAY more rights as passengers!

UPDATE: We did get 100% of our hotel expense paid by Delta! See how here:
